Join us for our meeting on Thursday, October 14 at 7:30PM at Queen City Clay as we talk about beer off-flavors… complete with examples for your enjoyment education.
August 2021 Meeting!
The August 2021 Meeting will be held on August 12, 2021 at Queen City Clay. The subject will be a blind tasting of beers where we’ll try to determine the style from a blind tasting.
There will be ample time to socialize and share homebrew!
July 2021 Meeting: Sam Adams Taproom
Join us on July 8, 7:30 PM at the Sam Adams Taproom in OTR. Parking is available across Logan Street (you will need to pay) or at meters (you probably will need to pay). Do not bring homebrew to consume on-site. We will have a brief update on club matters and spend the rest of the time talking, drinking, etc.
June 10, 2021 CMI Meeting: Big Ash Brewing
NEXT MEETING
Join us in the outdoor area at Big Ash Brewing next Thursday as we get back into the swing of having regular meetings! Do not bring homebrew to consume (trading in the parking lot is probably ok). We might have a raffle.
CONGRATULATIONS
The BJCP group recently received results from the test in January – congrats to Chris, Joe, Jack, and myself for being named recognized judges, and to Zach, Matt, and Chico for advancing their scores. This group was wildly successful, as FIVE people have BJCP National Judge scores (80+). If you’re interested in joining, contact Rick Franckhauser. Similarly, if you are currently a judge but haven’t taken the written exam or need to improve your score on the written exam, it might be a good idea to join. Big thanks to Frank and Will M for coordinating and teaching the group.
UPCOMING COMPETITIONS
- Indiana’s Brew Cup 7/10
- Butler County Fair 7/23
- KY State Fair 8/13
- Beer and Sweat 8/21
- Bluegrass Cup 9/18
If need more info, contact Joe Kulesa; if you plan on entering or judging and want/need to coordinate transportation of entries or people, reply to the list or start a discussion on the Facebook Group.
May Virtual Meeting: Evan Rouse from Braxton Brewing
Join us Thursday to talk with Evan Rouse from Braxton Brewing. Braxton is one of the region’s most successful breweries, starting with their taproom in Covington and adding Braxton Labs in the old Ei8ht Ball space, Braxton Barrelhouse in Ft. Mitchell and Braxton Cincinnati in the former 3 Points space. On top of that, Braxton’s Vive Hard Seltzer is the official seltzer of the Cincinnati Bengals. And it all started in a garage… That being said, the commercial calibration beer is Garage Beer, which is easy to find in 12 packs or in a variety pack (with Storm, Garage Beer, Tropic Flare, and Blown Gasket in my case from Jungle Jim’s Eastgage).
The Zoom link was sent out via email to the group and on the club Facebook Group.
