On July 2nd, 2023, a ragtag group of Malt Infusers met at MadTree brewing to fill a barrel with an English Barleywine (recipe) that each member brewed. These are pictures from the barrel fill…
The members let the barrel sit until early November, when some members met at MadTree to sample the beer from the barrel. Those in attendance determined that the beer needed more time. In early January some members met again at MadTree to sample the beer, and this time determined it was ready. Members convened at MadTree again on January 20 to drain the barrel.
Big thanks to MadTree for their support!
The 2024 Barrel Project is in planning and will likely be a Breakfast Stout. Information on joining the barrel project will be sent out in the next club email – if you aren’t getting those emails, sign up here.
We’re going alcohol free this month. Since the Christmas party had quite a bit of barrel aged stouts and to celebrate dry January (who does that???), we’re going to sample various non-alcoholic offerings. As always, bring homebrew to share (preferably with alcohol since… well…).
So join us on Thursday, January 11th at Queen City Clay, and leave your Uber account at home since you won’t need it!
The meeting is at 7:30pm at Queen City Clay. See the diagram below for where to park and enter.
2024 Dues are Due!

Join us on Thursday, November 9th so we can take beer to the next level… by making beer cocktails! Our expert mixologist, Will, will guide you through the art of infusing beers with a wide range of ingredients to create unique and tantalizing beverages that promise to take an American Light Lager to something flavorful (not that THAT’s difficult).
